Cutting and Folding Errors

Click on any of the thumbnails below for enlarged images.

If a sheet is folded or creased in such a way that it leaves a "crinkle" in the paper while it is being printed, it will show a streak where the ink was not applied. As you will notice, the "crinkle" may have happened before or between applications of ink.

These are examples of the note cut to the wrong size, usually with a part of the adjoining note attached. These examples here show varying degrees of this error, with some just showing a very small piece of the adjoining note while some will show a large piece.

Here are notes which have been folded prior to cutting the sheets into individual notes (bundles).  All of these in this section were folded after all of the printing was complete.  Some of these are very minor while others are extremely dramatic.  One must keep in mind when purchasing cutting errors for some have been folded and or cut from sheets of notes that were widely available to collectors.  I have some examples of fake errors here.

These are examples of notes (sheets) being folded during the printing process.  When the fold occurs during applications of ink, some of the most dramatic folding errors are created.  Have a look at the two below and you will see what I mean.

Here is one error that is dramatic in it own way.  If you look at it close, you would have to scratch you head.
