Fake Errors

Click on any of the thumbnails below for enlarged images.

Here are two notes which I am sure were printed or altered on someone's home printer.  Keep in mind that fake errors are out there and the seller may not know that they are fake and may sell them as legit errors.

Many times I get questions from collectors about so called errors like this one.  My guess on these is that they were wet with water or chemicals and has caused a transfer of ink or a colour from something else.

This is one error to watch out for.  There was a sheet of replacement notes prefix *NP was stolen from the printer and then ended up being cut up into so called errors.

Here are fake errors which were cut out of sheets of notes which the sheets were widely available to collectors.  Beware of these, there was also be a Bird series $10 sheet available so there could be fake errors like the ones below in a $10.

If any of these notes are your note and you wish to be mentioned as a contributor,
please email me with the details and indicate which note(s).
